Id and his posse of irreverent docents were distracted when a shipment of paintings arrived for an art show. They lost the list describing which art went into which gallery. All they know is that each gallery is organized around one of four American artists — Albert Bierstadt, Eastman Johnson, Emanuel Leutze, and Worthington Whittredge. They need your sharp eyes to recognize each painting’s distinguishing traits and organize the paintings by artist.
You can do this, even if you never studied these artists. A special Notice and Note feature will help you identify each artist’s interests and characteristic approach to painting. But, this will be that much more engrossing if you explored the Emanuel Leutze Look and Learn Gallery Walk.
This can also support class discussions for Albert Bierstadt’s The Last of the Buffalo and Emanuel Leutze’s Washington Crossing the Delaware.
